Cloud Nine

First Class Airport Lounge

We were asked by a prestigious independent airline to propose a first class lounge.

The proposed experience is pointedly different from the normal traveling experience, marked by its luxury, comfort and surprise, its sense of intrigue and drama. We aim to create a talking point that lasts beyond the holiday itself: a memory that those who experience want to re-live and those who are told about it want to experience. Variations in lighting and the ceiling "cloud formations" define different pockets of activities within the Lounge. Under the sculptural ceiling, the visitor passes through the dynamic fluid space on a meandering route that takes you past a number of different zones - spaces like islands, which will encourage exploration and settlement.
