Hidden Gem House

Refurbishment and extension, Holland Park, London.

For a family of four we developed this design for a house in a “hidden” square. The building had been refurbished out of its 1970:s character and the challenge was to conceive a design that fitted the 21st century, whilst retaining the sense of the 1970:s detailing. The connecting element became the oak floor, which was echoed in the bespoke joinery, combined with shadow lines in skirting and architraves – a contemporary nod to the original house. The new extension at the ground floor opens the family room up to the garden. Garden by Marmelade Jam, interior by Safran Interiors.
